When to see an ENT specialist?
An ENT specialist is a doctor who diagnoses and treats diseases of the ear, nose, paranasal sinuses, larynx and throat.
It is advisable to opt for a consultation with an ENT specialist when symptoms such as:
- ear pain, feeling of blocked ear, persistent tinnitus, hearing loss;
- sore throat;
- sinusitis;
- laryngitis;
- tonsil problems - hypertrophy of the palatine tonsils and the pharyngeal tonsil;
- snoring;
- prolonged hoarseness;
- swallowing disorders (dysphagia);
- curvature of the nasal septum;
- disorders of smell and taste;
- frequent dizziness and imbalance;
- unusual discharge from the ear, nose (for example, with an admixture of blood).
What does a visit to an ENT specialist look like?
During the visit, the ENT specialist:
- takes a history and performs an otorhinolaryngological examination, including an examination of the larynx;
- makes a diagnosis and informs about further treatment,
- makes referrals for examinations, consultations with other specialists, hospitalizations;
- issues sick leave.
Details of the visit:
- A consultation lasts 15 minutes.
- You must appear for the appointment no later than 15 minutes before the start of the appointment.
- Implementation of the service is possible only at the medical facility indicated during the purchase.
- If you want to find a specialist who speaks a foreign language, we recommend reading the profile of the doctor in question.
How to prepare for a visit to an ENT specialist?
Before the visit, the ears should be carefully cleaned of wax lingering inside the ear canals. This is especially important for a visit during which the condition of the eardrum will be assessed.
Before coming in for a consultation, prepare:
- results of current laboratory and imaging tests, if they have been performed;
- information about past surgeries and hospital stays, and any medications you are taking (including dosage).
During your visit, tell your doctor about any worrisome symptoms. Be sure to indicate how long they have been occurring, with what frequency they appear, and if there has been a recent increase.
Laryngologist - telemedicine
A telemedicine consultation can be used by any patient, regardless of location and previous treatment history.
During a telephone consultation, the doctor will complete any services that are remotely possible. However, during the course of the medical interview, it may turn out that an in-patient visit is necessary, without which a correct diagnosis and selection of treatment cannot be made.
In a telephone consultation, the doctor:
- takes a history;
- makes a diagnosis and informs about further treatment,
- may issue referrals for tests or consultations;
- issues sick leave.
Important information:
- Your doctor will only see the results of tests and consultations performed at the Damian Medical Center.
- You can send a scan of your medical records from other facilities, e.g. test results, to: wynikibadan@damian.pl at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. It will then be attached to your medical record and the doctor will see it at the appointment.
- When you book an appointment identified as a Teleportation, you are purchasing a telephone consultation, not an office visit. The office addresses displayed in the schedule only indicate where the doctor works.
- When purchasing a consultation, we strongly request that you use a phone number registered in Poland - it is only possible to have a telemedicine consultation from a Polish phone number.
