What does a pediatric ENT specialist do?

A pediatric ENT specialist diagnoses and treats diseases of the ear, nose, paranasal sinuses, larynx and throat in patients up to the age of 18. Ailments worth consulting with the specialist include:

• frequent, recurrent inflammation of the ear, larynx, throat, tonsils or sinuses;
• hearing problems (e.g., hearing loss, tinnitus);
• dizziness and imbalance;
• nosebleeds;
• tendency to breathe through the mouth, snoring;
• abnormal speech development.

Scope of consultation

During the consultation, the doctor:

• conducts a history and otolaryngological examination, including examination of the larynx;
• makes a diagnosis and informs about further treatment,
• makes referrals for examinations, consultations with other specialists (e.g., phoniatrist, speech therapist), hospitalizations.

At the visit, the doctor may perform an ear lavage, remove stitches and apply an ear dressing.

What does a visit to a pediatric ENT specialist look like?

The visit takes place in a friendly, non-stressful atmosphere for the child. The doctor takes a medical history and examines the child - on this basis, he may order additional diagnostics or make a diagnosis and give recommendations related to the treatment process.

• Before the visit, it is a good idea to prepare the child's medical records (for example, the results of previous ENT tests, if any). You should also take care of hygiene - clean the child's ears, nose, teeth.
• You should arrive no later than 15 minutes before the appointment.
• Implementation of the service is possible only at the medical facility indicated during the purchase.
• If you want to find a specialist who speaks a foreign language, we recommend reading the profile of the doctor in question.

Pediatric laryngologist - teleconsultation

A telemedicine consultation can be used by any patient, regardless of location and previous medical history.

During the telephone consultation, the doctor will complete any services that are remotely possible. However, during the course of the medical interview, it may turn out that an in-patient visit is necessary, without which a correct diagnosis and treatment selection cannot be made. 

The specialist will try to connect with the patient three times.

It will then be attached to medical record and the doctor will see it at the appointment.
