Diagnostic Tests

Aldosterone testing is used in the diagnosis of secondary hypertension or renal failure, among other conditions.

Thyroglobulin testing is mainly used to assess the effectiveness of treatment and detect recurrence of certain thyroid cancers. It is sometimes used as an adjunct in diagnosing the causes of other diseases of this gland.

Determination of 17-OH-progesterone levels is useful in diagnosing hirsutism (excessive male-type hair in women), menstrual disorders in women and puberty in boys.

The test includes determination of the number of morphotic elements (erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets), measurement of the size and assessment of the characteristics of their structure (MCV, MCH, MCHC), as well as the number and percentage of the individual types of white blood cells.

Test the level of cystatin C in the blood.

Testing LDL cholesterol levels in the blood.

Test the level of cholinesterase (CHE) in the blood.

Test the level of neuron specific enolase (NSE) in the blood.

Testing the level of haptoglobin in the blood.
