Allergy to apples

The apple test is a blood allergy test. The test for apple allergy determines the Malus allergen.

The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is performed when an allergy to apples is suspected. The advantage of of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines antihistamines. The blood allergen test is used also for qualifying for apple allergy desensitization.

It is also recommended for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children under the age of 4 years.
