Allergy to birch

The birch test is a blood allergy test. The test for birch allergy means Betula allergen.

The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is performed when birch allergy is suspected. The advantage of of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines antihistamines. The blood allergen test is used also for qualification for desensitization of birch pollen allergy.

It is also recommended for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children under the age of 4 years.
