Allergy to lemon

The lemon test is a blood allergy test. The test for lemon allergy indicates the allergen Citrus limon.


The test involves the determination of IgE antibodies in the blood and is performed when an allergy to lemon is suspected. The advantage of of the test is that there is no need to discontinue antihistamines.


The test is performed in the case of a suspected allergy to lemon antihistamines.

Blood allergen testing is also used for qualification for desensitization of allergy to lemons. It is recommended also for the diagnosis of allergenic agents in children under 4 years of age.
