What is the histopathological evaluation of cancer tissue in biopsy material and preparation for genetic testing?
The histopathological evaluation of cancer tissue involves assessing the quality of the biopsy material, which is then prepared for ForeSentia genetic testing. This test is dedicated to individuals with cancer who wish to undergo a detailed genetic analysis of their biopsy material.
For whom
The test is intended for individuals who are battling cancer and wish to have their biopsy material analyzed genetically with ForeSentia.
How to prepare for the test
The genetic test is possible when the histopathological material is of good quality and the cancer cell content is at least 20%. During the evaluation, the histopathologist selects the fragment with the highest concentration of cancer cells and prepares it for the ForeSentia test.
How the test is conducted
During the test, the histopathologist evaluates the material, selects an appropriate tissue fragment with the dominant cancer cells, and prepares it for further genetic analysis. All fragments are carefully prepared and forwarded for genetic testing.
How long does it take to get the results and how to interpret them
The test result is provided in paper form along with the histopathological blocks. Any remaining blocks are sent back to the Medical Center where the patient is being treated or directly to the patient if they live outside of Warsaw.
