Colotect is a simple, fast, and safe epigenetic test that detects cancer changes in the colon. Thanks to its high sensitivity, the test can detect colon cancer at an early stage before it becomes dangerous. Colotect analyzes 3 genes associated with the development of colon cancer: SDC2, ADHFE1, and PPP2R5C.
Who is it for?
The Colotect test is for individuals who:
- are under 50 years old and do not qualify for a colonoscopy, but have risk factors for colon cancer (e.g., polyps in the colon, inflammatory bowel disease, a family history of colon cancer),
- have contraindications for a colonoscopy,
- have a poor tolerance to colonoscopy or are afraid of the procedure.
How to prepare for the test?
The Colotect test does not require any special preparation. You can take the test at any time, without the need to stop medications or change your diet. The sample is collected at home, and the kit includes instructions to guide you through the process.
How does the test work?
- After purchasing, go to the Medical Center where you purchased the test to collect it.
- You will collect the stool sample yourself at home, following the included instructions.
- You must deliver the stool sample to the blood collection point at the selected Medical Center by 12:00 PM, no later than 24 hours after collection.
How long will it take to get the result and how to interpret it?
The result of the Colotect test is available after a few days (up to 14 days). It will be assessed by a doctor who will help interpret the results. If the test detects any changes, the doctor will refer you for further diagnostics and appropriate treatment.
