The consultation includes a detailed medical interview – the patient is asked to answer physiotherapist's questions about the disease’s history, current condition, medications taken, comorbidities etc.
Furthermore, physical, subjective and functional examinations and/or palpation may be performed. These types of tests include, for instance, assessment of joints range of motion (ROM), verification of soft tissue status as well as test of muscle strength and flexibility.
The current diagnostic tests (if performed) should be provided, e.g. ultrasound imaging, X-ray, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging – then, the physiotherapist can analyse them, make a diagnosis and propose an appropriate treatment method. During the consultation, the physiotherapist may order some rehabilitation procedures, discuss the type of procedures performed, their frequency as well as the expected duration of treatment.
If necessary, the physiotherapist may refer the patient for additional tests or to a specialist in order to broaden the diagnostics.
During the visit, the physiotherapist is not authorised to issue a referral for X-ray, computed tomography and/or magnetic resonance imaging.
Duration of consultation: 20 minutes.
