Hip bone densitometry is an X-ray examination using the DEXA method that allows determining the bone mineral density in an area particularly susceptible to osteoporotic fractures (a femoral neck fracture is one of the most serious consequences of osteoporosis).
Recommended for:
- women after menopause,
- men over the age of 50,
- people with chronic diseases affecting bone metabolism,
- patients after orthopedic injuries or with a family history of osteoporosis.

Preparation:
The examination does not require special preparation. Bring your ID and report any possible pregnancy.
Contraindications:
- pregnancy,
- examination with barium or iodine contrast in the last 3 months,
- fresh femoral neck fracture.
