An increase in glucose levels is observed in:
- diabetes,
- pituitary and adrenal gland dysfunctions,
- pancreatic diseases,
- patients on dialysis or during pregnancy.
A decrease in glucose levels occurs in:
- overdose of insulin or oral antidiabetic drugs,
- hormonal insufficiency of the pituitary or adrenal glands,
