A test performed from stool used in the diagnosis of many
dangerous diseases of the digestive system.
Collected samples are subjected to microscopic evaluation. The test allows
Detection of protozoa (amoebae - Entamoeba histolytica, hookworms -
Giardia intenstinalis), roundworms (roundworm, hookworm
duodenal, echinococcus, trichomoniasis), flat worms (flukes,
bilharzia, tapeworm).
Parasitological examination is indicated, among others, in the case of chronic
diarrhea, abdominal pain or lack of appetite. Parasites in the stool may
appear periodically, so it is recommended to perform the test
three times.
This test is not a test for pinworms.
