What does the treatment consist of?
Kobido massage is based on alternating fast and slow movements of the hands; it includes patting, tapping and pinching. It is an intense massage that requires the specialized skills and knowledge of a physiotherapist. The area the physiotherapist works on is the muscles of the shoulder, neckline, cervical, back, head and face.
Stages of massage:
- Muscle relaxation - calm, gentle movements designed to induce a state of relaxation.
- Manual lifting - stronger, faster movements with skin kneading and pinching. This stage is designed to stimulate blood microcirculation and the production of collagen and elastin by the skin.
- Lymphatic drainage - slow, circular movements performed according to the direction of lymph flow toward the heart. Lymphatic drainage reduces swelling and promotes the removal of toxins and impurities.
- Acupressure - applying pressure to specific points on the face.
