A nephrologist specializes in kidney and urinary tract disorders, such as kidney stones, kidney cysts, kidney failure, urinary incontinence, and urinary tract infections.
During a phone consultation, the nephrologist:
- conducts an interview,
- makes a diagnosis,
- provides medical recommendations,
- prescribes medications,
- can issue referrals for tests or consultations:
- For consultations provided by Medicover – a referral for consultation or tests at a Medicover Center;
- For consultations provided by Medicover Hospital – a referral for consultation at Medicover Hospital, and for tests at either Medicover Hospital or a Medicover Center.
- issues medical leave certificates.
The specialist will attempt to contact the patient three times.
During the phone consultation, the doctor will provide all services that can be performed remotely. However, in some cases, an in-person visit may be necessary to ensure an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.
