Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is a disorder that manifests itself in repeated, recurring episodes of stopping or significantly reducing airflow through the airways during sleep. These episodes, known as apneas or shortness of breath, lead to reduced oxygen levels in the blood, resulting in the body functioning in hypoxic conditions. Breathing interruptions can last from a few to several seconds and can occur up to hundreds of times through the night, significantly disrupting the balance and quality of sleep. This disorder can lead to serious health consequences if not properly diagnosed and treated.

Consultation

Before the consultation, the patient should take a polygraph test. During the medical consultation, a report on the examination will be arranged, and further treatment will be planned - if necessary, depending on the nature of the problem, the doctor may direct the patient to additional specialist consultations - such as ENT or cardiology. The service is designed for adult patients.

Indications to benefit from the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea

The presence of some of the following symptoms:

• daytime- morning headache, feeling of fatigue regardless of the length of sleep,increased daytime sleepiness, making it difficult to function normally, e.g.: falling asleep in the chair while watching TV, falling asleep while driving, dry mouth, chapped lips upon waking, excessive irritability and nervousness.
• nocturnal- loud irregular snoring interrupted by sudden silence,restless intermittent sleep, sudden awakenings from sleep often combined with a feeling of shortness of breath, accelerated breathing or heart rate, problems falling asleep after waking due to anxiety, excessive sweating at night, need to urinate at night.
