Troponin T is a marker of cardiac ischemia. The study of troponin
in the blood is used in the diagnosis of:
- acute coronary artery disease,
- fresh myocardial infarction,
- assessment of the risk of death in the course of acute coronary syndrome
coronary artery syndrome,
- assessing the effectiveness of reperfusion therapy,
Troponin, thanks to its small molecule and presence in the cytosol, is
washed out in the early stages of impaired permeability of the
cell membranes, and at 4-6 hours after ischemia, there is a
5-fold increase in concentration above reference values. Further
persistence or increase in concentration depends on the breakdown of the contractile apparatus
contractile apparatus (smooth muscle tissue).
