Neck ultrasound is used to assess the organs located in the neck, including lymph nodes.
Ultrasound evaluates soft tissues, the oral cavity, and the tongue. Diseases of the oral cavity and oropharynx manifest as pain in the mouth and/or throat, which intensifies during swallowing and may radiate to the ear.
The most common causes of the above symptoms that can be identified by neck ultrasound are:
- inflammatory changes (abscess, enlarged lymph nodes),
- benign and malignant tumors.
Ultrasound examination is an imaging method that uses sound waves. The technique relies on the reflection of ultrasound waves from organ structures.
- Non-invasive examination - no special examination required Preparation.
- The duration of the study is about 15-20 minutes.
- The patient receives the test result in the form of a medical description with a photo. All documentation is printed at the visit and The patient receives the original result. The description of the result is also available on-line.
