Zinc protoporphyrin in erythrocytes

Cincoprotoporphyrin (zinc-linked protoporphyrin) in erythrocytes is a biomarker used in the biological monitoring of exposure to lead as a toxicant.

The test allows monitoring the early health effects of lead poisoning lead.


An increase in the level of the parameter signifies disorders of the hematopoietic system as a result of chronic lead exposure, even if the doses did not exceeded the permissible biological concentration.
