What is an Angio-OCT examination?
Angio-OCT is a safe and non-invasive method of assessing the retinal vasculature and microcirculation using optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging. The test is used in the diagnosis and monitoring of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, among others. It makes it possible to detect changes in the small vessels in the early stages of the disease.
The test does not require the administration of contrast.
Important information
- No referral for the examination is required.
- The stay in the facility will last 30-60 minutes. If you use eye drops on a daily basis, bring them with you to the examination.
- It is up to the doctor to decide whether pupil-dilating drops need to be administered. If the drops are given, you should not drive after the test.
- The result of the examination in the form of a description is issued the same day.
