What is an OCT-RNFL examination?
OCT-RNFL is an examination of the Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (RFL) and optic nerve disc. It makes it possible to detect changes characteristic of early glaucoma and monitor the progression of the disease.
The test is painless and safe. It uses the optical coherence tomography (OCT) method.
Important information
- A referral for the examination is not required.
- Your stay at the facility will last 30-60 minutes. If you use eye drops on a daily basis, bring them with you to the examination.
- It is up to the doctor to decide whether pupil-dilating drops need to be administered. If the drops are given, you should not drive after the test.
- The result of the examination in the form of a description is issued the same day.
